{"id":58421,"date":"2026-07-26T01:02:31","date_gmt":"2026-07-26T01:02:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/58421\/"},"modified":"2026-07-26T01:02:31","modified_gmt":"2026-07-26T01:02:31","slug":"sydney-nurse-arrested-after-allegedly-stealing-patient-data-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/58421\/","title":{"rendered":"Sydney nurse arrested after allegedly stealing patient data"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A nurse has been arrested in Sydney\u2019s north after allegedly stealing confidential patient information without authorisation.<\/p>\n<p>A 59-year-old Frenchs Forest man was arrested by detectives attached to the NSW Police Cybercrime Squad on Thursday night after he allegedly \u201caccessed and downloaded patient data without authorisation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>A police spokesman said detectives \u201cseized several electronic devices which they will allege contain details of patients\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The man was employed by Northern Sydney Local Health District, which is one of the largest metropolitan health districts, covering 900 square kilometres and encompassing six public hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>NSW Police and NSW Health would not confirm which hospital the man was employed at.<\/p>\n<p>Cybercrime Squad commander Detective Superintendent Matt Craft said detectives \u201cacted swiftly to seize the devices and recover the data\u201d after receiving an alert from NSW Health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese devices are now being examined by specialists to determine whether there has been any further sharing of the data.
