An emotional man appeared in court with tears streaming down his face after being charged over a woman\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n
According to Victoria Police, emergency services discovered a 29-year-old woman with critical injuries at a home on Generation Dr in Clyde North at about 6.30pm on Sunday night.<\/p>\n
She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where she later died.<\/p>\n
In a statement, police said a 32-year-old man, believed to be known to the woman, was arrested at the scene.<\/p>\n
The following day, Jorden Turney appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court, where he was visibly emotional.<\/p>\n
Wearing a blue T-shirt and flanked by two custody officials, Mr Turney was seen red-faced and sobbing, dabbing his eyes with a tissue.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He also took deep exhales while nodding along to the filing hearing.<\/p>\n
The court was told police were seeking a longer than usual period to prepare their case, pointing to phone analytics and forensic investigations that were expected to lead to delays.<\/p>\n
Mr Turney\u2019s lawyer also requested he be seen by a custody nurse, noting his client had \u201da history of psychiatric illness\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He was remanded into custody by magistrate Vincenzo Caltabiano to return to court on November 30.\u00a0<\/p>\n
