{"id":5967,"date":"2026-05-06T13:55:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T13:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/5967\/"},"modified":"2026-05-06T13:55:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T13:55:08","slug":"parents-terrifying-update-after-cake-tragedy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/5967\/","title":{"rendered":"Parents\u2019 terrifying update after cake tragedy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The parents of a toddler left in an induced coma after a shocking baking accident have issued a warning to other parents to \u201ccheck their cupboards\u201d for potentially dangerous products.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Gold Coast mum and professional baker Katie Robinson was baking a Bluey-themed cake for the first birthday of her friend\u2019s son when her own 14-month-old son, Dusty, inhaled \u201cgold dust powder\u201d that was part of the product.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In a GoFundMe set up by Ms Robinson\u2019s friend, Rochelle Evrard, Dusty became unresponsive and Ms Robinson called triple-0.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWhen the dust is mixed with water it turns to paste \u2013 so it immediately blocked Dusty\u2019s lungs,\u201d Ms Evrard wrote on the GoFundMe page.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Toddler in an induced coma and unable to breathe on his own after a shocking baking accident.
