A new Vietnamese eatery has quietly opened in Mawson Lakes, offering a cosy, modern spin on what\u2019s usually considered a takeaway spot.<\/p>\n

The duo behind the venture, a young Vietnamese couple based in Adelaide who wish to remain unnamed, said they\u2019ve built the venue together from the ground up.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal was simply to bring a small piece of home and Vietnamese food culture to the local community here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam is the place where the couple were born and raised. The 1,000-year-old city blends energetic street life with deep traditions and French colonial architecture. <\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of the flavours on our menu are inspired by Northern Vietnamese cuisine and the dishes we grew up eating.\u201d<\/p>\n

They also took inspiration from a city they visited, Hoi An, instantly falling in love with its atmosphere, people and food. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe shop is really a blend of those two different cultures and food styles that both hold a special place for us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hanoi represents where the couple come from and the food culture they grew up with, while baguette reflects the French influence on Vietnamese cuisine, especially b\u00e1nh m\u00ec. <\/p>\n

Hanoi itself carries a strong mix of Vietnamese and French culture, while Hoi An has influences from Vietnamese and Chinese culture, they said. <\/p>\n

\u201cEven though the two cities are very different, they both have rich food cultures and histories, and Hanoi Baguette is our way of bringing those inspirations together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unlike most Vietnamese eateries Hanoi Baguette isn\u2019t just a place to grab-and-go. The modern, warm tones throughout the interior make way for a place to sit and genuinely enjoy a meal without the rush that\u2019s so normal in day-to-day life. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe tried to make the atmosphere feel warm, relaxed, and comfortable, almost like eating at home,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe food is made quickly to suit busy everyday life, but the experience itself is something we want people to enjoy rather than rush through.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking of the food, the menu highlights include b\u00e1nh m\u00ec, b\u00fan bowls, cold rolls, rice dishes, Vietnamese coffee, matcha and house-made drinks.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany of the ingredients and sauces are made in-house, including our p\u00e2t\u00e9, butter sauce, pickles, and some of our special fillings.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is probably why their current top picks include the crispy pork b\u00e1nh m\u00ec and the chargrilled chicken. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve also recently added two new options, a char siu pork and tofu with our house vegan sauce and they\u2019ve already been getting really positive feedback from customers.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything is prepared fresh daily, and we always try to keep the flavours close to the food we grew up eating in Vietnam.\u201d <\/p>\n

The Vietnamese coffee has been selling hot since opening and continues to be one of the fan favourites. If you\u2019re asking yourself why this spot is different to the chain B\u00e1nh M\u00ec joints in every suburb, it\u2019s just that. <\/p>\n

The Northern-style approach to b\u00e1nh m\u00ec and in-house chefs, are what regularly get the couple great reviews.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe try to keep the food authentic to what we grew up with while still adding our own personality and style to it,\u201d they said. <\/p>\n

Hanoi Baguette is designed to be a comfortable local spot for students, office workers, families, or anyone looking for a fresh and satisfying meal. <\/p>\n
