A driver has been fined following a wild car crash in Brisbane, which resulted in a blue Yaris becoming airborne and slamming into the side of a bus.<\/p>\n

Queensland Police confirmed a traffic infringement notice (TIN) to a man following the collision, between a blue Yaris and the bus, along the intersection of Beaudesert Rd and Granard Rd in Archerfield about 6.30pm on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Footage shows the moment the Yaris drove directly through an intersection and into the window of the bus.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Thursday, Queensland Police said a black SsangYong attempted to merge from a centre lane at 6.30pm and turn off near the intersection of Beaudesert Rd and Granard Rd.<\/p>\n

The Yaris, travelling in the outer lane, allegedly swerved around the SsangYong before losing control and colliding into a bus.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe driver of the bus, a 66-year-old Sunnybank Hills man, did not sustain any serious injuries,\u201d a police spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were no passengers on the bus at the time of the incident.\u201d<\/p>\n

The driver and sole occupant of the Yaris – a 45-year-old Pallara woman – was taken to hospital for shock.<\/p>\n

No other serious injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

The driver of the SsangYong, a 66-year-old Durack man, has since been issued with a TIN for driving without due care and attention – which carries a $690 fine and loss of three demerit points.<\/p>\n

The wild crash was captured on CCTV, including the moment the Yaris drove directly through an intersection and into the window of the bus. <\/p>\n

The car was barrelling through the intersection when it hit the raised island and became airborne, flying directly into the side of the bus and slamming through its windows. <\/p>\n

The impact was so great it caused the bus to rock sideways before restabilising. <\/p>\n

In the footage, the Yaris\u2019 back wheels and boot can be seen dangling from the window of the bus as it continued along its route. <\/p>\n

The car was wedged deep inside the bus, with its front wheels perched on top of a row of empty seats. <\/p>\n

The handrails were lodged on the front windscreen of the car, crushing seats underneath its chassis. <\/p>\n
