British rapper and YouTuber Yung Filly has been found guilty of assault<\/a> but cleared of raping a young fan he took back to his hotel room after an Australian show.<\/p>\n

The performer \u2014 whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos<\/a> \u2014 \u00a0was accused of biting, choking, raping and repeatedly slapping<\/a> a 20-year-old fan in September 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He went on trial in Perth<\/a>\u2019s District Court<\/a>, where on Friday a jury found him not guilty of three counts of sexual penetration without consent.<\/p>\n

The jury could not reach a verdict on three other sexual penetration charges.<\/p>\n

He was also found not guilty of one assault charge and cleared of impeding the woman\u2019s breathing by applying pressure to her neck.<\/p>\n

But Barrientos was found guilty of two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.<\/p>\n

The court was told the pair met at Bar1 in Hillarys, in Perth\u2019s northern suburbs, where Yung Filly was performing.<\/p>\n

The woman told the court that \u201cat the time he was my idol\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Barrientos and the woman went back to the Intercontinental hotel, where the complainant told the trial she thought they were arriving at an after-party, but there was none.<\/p>\n

In the entertainer\u2019s room, they engaged in consensual sex until it allegedly turned violent.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors alleged the entertainer\u00a0had bitten the fan, restricted her breathing and left her with bruises and wounds.<\/p>\n

The court was told that when she\u00a0asked him to stop, he continued to violate her.<\/p>\n

Prosecutor Danielle Clarke framed Barrientos as an \u201centitled man\u201d with a \u201cmoderate degree of fame\u201d, who was sexually violent towards an impressionable young woman.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe meant nothing to him,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Barrientos had pleaded not guilty to all 10 charges<\/a> and faced a trial starting July 20.<\/p>\n

Barrientos admitted to\u00a0biting the woman\u00a0on her face, neck and breasts.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn England we would call it a love bite,\u201d Barrientos told the\u00a0court.<\/p>\n

But he denied that the woman repeatedly told him to stop, or that he had forced her to continue.<\/p>\n

Filly\u2019s defence argued the complainant\u2019s evidence was \u201criddled with inconsistencies, embellishments and outright lies\u201d.<\/p>\n

Defence lawyer David Edwardson attacked prosecution claims the woman had been a victim of a powerful man, saying she went to the \u201chotel of her own free will\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was an adult, and she was perfectly capable of making her own decisions about what she would and wouldn\u2019t do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The matter will return to court on August 21 ahead of sentencing for the assault charges, and Barrientos\u2019 bail was continued until that date.<\/p>\n
