(ABC News: Adam Griffiths)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Fire and Rescue (FRNSW) Acting Superintendent Peter Murray confirmed the building was a construction site, and surrounding buildings, including the service station, had been evacuated as a precaution.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;A portion of that building has collapsed and some of the debris has come down and fallen onto some cars parked within the service station area,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;Firefighters remain on scene at this time, assessing the building for any signs of any further structural collapse to ensure the safety of the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;[The] Shell service station has been shut down as a precaution.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Three FRNSW teams are at the scene, including urban search and rescue firefighters, alongside multiple ambulance units.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A Shell service station next to tall brick buildings.\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/ecf929fbffdbb6e5c56381dba2a3ae5a.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">The incident was reported just before 11am.
