Credit: Facebook<\/p>\nA heartbroken Perth family has doubled the reward for their missing Cavoodle to $50,000 \u2014 but after more than seven months of searching there has still not been a single lead.<\/p>\n
Franklin, affectionately known as Frankie, vanished from his Brabham home sometime between 2.30pm on December 28 and 1am on December 29, leaving his family devastated and sparking one of Perth\u2019s biggest missing pet searches.<\/p>\n
Family friend Mark Ramsden has become one of the public voices of the search alongside Skye Cooper, the mother of one of Frankie\u2019s owners, as they continue their desperate bid to bring the beloved pet home.<\/p>\n
The extraordinary reward has been funded by Mr Ramsden, who has become inseparable from the beloved dog and is desperate to see him returned to his family.<\/p>\n
\u201cI got to meet him about a year ago and I kind of look after him when they\u2019re busy working,\u201d he told 6PR recently.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe became really, really best friends.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Ramsden originally offered a $5000 reward but has repeatedly increased the amount in the hope someone would come forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cActually, it\u2019s coming from myself,\u201d he said. \u201cWe started at about $5000 and I\u2019ve incremented and incremented.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was hoping that amount would be something that even if someone had the dog for breeding or something like that, they would just return him. No questions asked.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the massive incentive, no one has contacted the family with information that has led to Frankie being found.<\/p>\n
The search began immediately after the male Cavoodle disappeared, with Mr Ramsden and Frankie\u2019s family launching a huge community campaign.<\/p>\n
They went door-to-door through Brabham, delivering about 400 flyers, put up posters, contacted neighbours and created the dedicated Facebook page Bring Franklin Home.<\/p>\n
They also spent hours reviewing CCTV footage from nearby properties in an effort to piece together what happened.<\/p>\n
Mr Ramsden said about 80 hours of footage was checked, covering the period when Frankie was believed to have disappeared.<\/p>\n
The footage ruled out the possibility Frankie simply escaped through an open door, garage or gate.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe covered most of it \u2014 well, all of it basically,\u201d he said. \u201cHe never got out.\u201d<\/p>\n
With no sign of Frankie leaving the property, the family believes someone may have entered the yard and taken him.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can only think someone came over one of the back fences and took him,\u201d Mr Ramsden said.<\/p>\n
Frankie\u2019s disappearance has been particularly heartbreaking for the family because he belongs to their five-year-old son.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe really misses him,\u201d Mr Ramsden said. \u201cAnd I know the rest of the family do.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said Frankie was friendly and would likely respond if someone called his name.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrankie, more likely, because we call him that most of the time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Cavoodle is microchipped and has been reported missing to vets and pounds.<\/p>\n
Mr Ramsden said that one concern was that Frankie, who was not sterilised, may have been targeted because of the value of Cavoodles.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was just such a wonderful personality,\u201d he said. \u201cHe was like my best friend.\u201d<\/p>\n
Frankie is described as a light-coloured male Cavoodle with a distinctive underbite and a tooth that did not develop correctly.<\/p>\n
