A motorbike rider has miraculously escaped disaster after nearly going under the wheel of a large truck while trying to lane filter inside a busy Melbourne tunnel.<\/p>\n

Wild footage of the rider clinging to his bike as it was dragged along the CityLink tollway has been shared online after the incident last week.<\/p>\n

\u201cHesitant to upload as the guy nearly died but here it is,\u201d the person who caught the footage said.<\/p>\n

The video, taken about 4.30pm last Tuesday in the Burnley Tunnel at Richmond, shows the motorbike approaching a van in one lane with the truck in the other.<\/p>\n

Just as its rider attempts to drive between them, the bike is clipped on its right hand side and it begins to violently wobble.<\/p>\n

The bike crashes to the road before being pulled under the wheels of the truck, with sparks seen flying from the scraping bike.<\/p>\n

Its rider somehow avoided going under the truck himself, with the footage showing him lying on top of the motorbike and paddling at the tarmac with his left hand.<\/p>\n

The drivers of the van and truck respectively slammed on their brakes within seconds of the crash.<\/p>\n

It was unclear if the rider was injured during the incident and Victoria Police said the incident had not been reported.<\/p>\n

There have been shocked reactions to the incident with the footage viewed hundreds of thousands of times since being shared on the Dash Cam Owners Australia page last Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Many agreed the motorbike rider was \u201clucky to be alive\u201d.<\/p>\n

Others pointed out there was a free lane to the left of the truck that could have been used to safely overtake both vehicles.<\/p>\n

\u201cLucky the oversized driver was a professional driver. Obviously checking his mirrors and noticed, stopped and saved a life,\u201d one commenter wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cShould buy a lottery ticket \u2026 What was he attempting?\u201d another asked<\/p>\n

The truck driver has been contacted for comment.<\/p>\n
