Tom Aldred of Brisbane celebrates scoring <\/p>\n
Aldred won the Gary Wilkins Medal as Brisbane\u2019s Player of the Year in 2022\/23 and helped lead the club to two Finals Series appearances as well as the 2023 Australia Cup Final.<\/p>\n
Having become an Australian citizen in 2024, Aldred returns as a domestic player and will not occupy a visa spot in the Roar squad.<\/p>\n
Speaking on his return to Brisbane, Aldred said he had little hesitation in rejoining the club.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen the opportunity came up to return to the Roar, the decision was an easy one.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family loved living in Brisbane and it was a privilege to wear the orange shirt for as long as I did during my five years here.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t wait to reconnect with the members and fans, pull on that shirt again and give it my all for the Club.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brisbane Roar Sporting Director James Gow said Aldred\u2019s experience and leadership would be a major boost for the squad.<\/p>\n
\u201cTom is really passionate about Brisbane Roar and understands the culture we have worked to instil in the playing group.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is a defender who loves to defend, has vast experience and excellent leadership qualities and he has already led this Club as captain. Tom is a player who is respected by all at the football club.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was clear from the moment we spoke how much he wanted to come back and support the group. We\u2019re looking forward to seeing him in an orange shirt again.\u201d<\/p>\n
