{"id":6626,"date":"2026-05-07T08:34:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T08:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/6626\/"},"modified":"2026-05-07T08:34:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T08:34:09","slug":"hilton-plans-return-stay-in-the-south-australian-capital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/6626\/","title":{"rendered":"Hilton Plans Return Stay in the South Australian Capital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 27-storey Hilton hotel to be built in Adelaide\u2019s east end will reconnect the global inn brand with South Australia after last year\u2019s sale of its 40-year-old hotel on the city\u2019s main street broke the nexus.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Thai group Amora Hotels &amp; Resorts extended its Australian footprint by <a data-mce-href=\"https:\/\/www.theurbandeveloper.com\/articles\/hilton-adelaide-sa-sold-amora\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theurbandeveloper.com\/articles\/hilton-adelaide-sa-sold-amora\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">buying the 40-year-old Hilton Adelaide on King William Street and revealing plans for a $40-million upgrade<\/a>. The Hilton brand will leave the location at the end of June.<\/p>\n<p>But Hilton is already back in the SA capital, this week announcing that the 251-key Hilton Adelaide East End would be built on a cleared site at 299 Pirie Street.<\/p>\n<p>Hilton plans to develop the 27-storey hotel under a franchise agreement with Auriga Investments and have the project operated by Trilogy Hotels.<\/p>\n<p>The hotel\u2014on a site 800m from the Rundle Mall shopping strip\u2014is planned as part of Arcadia, a mixed-use project in the eastern end of the CBD.<\/p>\n<p>Hilton Australasia director of development Tushar Raniga [pictured at top with Auriga Investment Group director Eric Luk and Tony Ryan from Trilogy] said the project would reintroduce the multinational hotel brand to SA as \u201ca modern, design-led flagship aligned with Adelaide\u2019s growth and evolving skyline\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Pirie_St_Hilton_Hero_Render.jpg\" alt=\"An external rendering of the planned hotel.\"\/>\u25b2 A rendering of the 251-key Hilton Adelaide East End planned for a site at 299 Pirie Street in the Adelaide CBD.<\/p>\n<p>The hotel is planned to have rooms ranging from 31 to 140 sqm, a recreation deck, food and beverage venues, 303sq m of meeting space, a fitness centre and a pool.<\/p>\n<p>Auriga Investment Group director Eric Luk said Arcadia was conceived as a place where community, design and city life come together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether they will create a destination that draws locals back into the CBD and supports the year\u2011round calendar of events that make Adelaide unique,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a long\u2011term investment in the city\u2019s future and we are committed to delivering a precinct that elevates Adelaide for generations to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trilogy Hotels chief executive Scott Boyes said every great city needed a Hilton hotel.
