Chia Liang Saw charged with 72 child sexual abuse offences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Perth pediatrician is back behind bars on remand after police charged him with 15 new child sexual abuse offences.<\/p>\n<p>Chia Liang Saw, 41, from Wembley, in Perth\u2019s west, allegedly abused seven more victims. <\/p>\n<p>He was charged with an additional six counts of dealing with a child under 13 years, three counts of indecently recording a child under 13 years, three counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13 years, two counts of indecently recording a child over 13 and under 16 years and producing child exploitation material.<\/p>\n<p>Bail was refused for Dr Saw in the Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>He is due to appear again on October 30 for a committal mention and is yet to enter pleas.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Saw now faces 72 offences in total relating to 18 victims who were allegedly sexually assaulted by the pediatrician in his consulting rooms.<\/p>\n<p>Police allege the offending took place across several Perth suburbs between November 2022 and May this year when the doctor was first arrested.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Saw most recently worked at St John of God as a consultant pediatrician at hospitals across Perth and also worked as a clinical lecturer at Curtin University, according to his LinkedIn profile.<\/p>\n<p>The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency suspended Dr Saw\u2019s registration following the allegations.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives urge anyone with information about Dr Saw to contact Crime Stoppers or Safe2Say.<\/p>\n<p>Read related topics:<a
