A boy was attacked with machetes by two offenders in Melbourne’s east who stole his e-motorcycle in an incident police described as “senseless”.<\/p>\n

Victoria Police said the boy, who was 17 at the time of the attack in Wantirna in June, was viciously stabbed and taken to hospital.<\/p>\n

The incident happened at JW Manson Reserve in Wantirna about 6:15pm on June 20.<\/p>\n

Police said the boy was approached by two unidentified males who attacked him without warning, pushing him off his e-motorcycle.<\/p>\n

As the boy tried to run away, he was hit with a machete, which caused a deep wound to his shoulder.<\/p>\n

He was able to flee to nearby Selkirk Avenue, where a passer-by called Triple Zero (000).<\/p>\n

The boy, who has since turned 18, suffered at least three wounds from the attack and spent four days in hospital.<\/p>\n

The thieves made off with his mobile phone and e-motorcycle, valued at $10,000.<\/p>\n

Detective Acting Inspector Troy Andrews urged anyone with information about the attack to come forward.<\/p>\n

“This unprovoked and senseless attack on the victim is extremely concerning and completely unacceptable,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Investigators have been working tirelessly in relation to finding those involved and to hold them to account for their actions.<\/p>\n

“I want to assure the Knox community that police are patrolling the community 24\/7, with a sustained presence from local units and the Neighbourhood Policing Unit.”<\/p>\n

Police have released CCTV images of the alleged attackers as well as an image of the stolen e-motorcycle.<\/p>\n

The e-motorcycle was a Surron Ultra Bee HP.<\/p>\n
