Eleven people have been charged after a teen was allegedly bashed and left in wrapped in plastic in Queensland bushland.<\/p>\n
A jogger found the boy off Cape Pallarenda Road in Townsville about 6:35am on July 18.<\/p>\n
On Friday, Dave Miles of the Townsville Child Abuse and Sexual Crime Unit said the alleged attack was not random.<\/p>\n

“It’s concerning, from our perspective, the level of violence that was used and the way in which this young person was left in Pallarenda,” he said.<\/p>\n
“This level of violence is not something we see in the community often.<\/p>\n
“Torture is a very significant charge and something we, thankfully, don’t see a lot of.”<\/p>\n
Senior Sergeant Miles alleged the teen was bashed at a house in Heatley before being “dumped”, wrapped in plastic and unable to move for more than five hours, at Pallarenda.<\/p>\n
Car gives clues<\/p>\n
Police alleged that a car believed to be involved in the incident was later driven erratically along the nearby Strand and had a collision.<\/p>\n
Police allegedly found items inside the car that Senior Sergeant Miles said assisted in the investigation.<\/p>\n

A 13-year-old Deeragun boy appeared in Townsville Children’s Court on July 24. He was charged with four offences, including torture.<\/p>\n
A 35-year-old Kirwan woman charged with five offences, including torture, remains in custody and will face Townsville Magistrates Court on September 28.<\/p>\n
A 14-year-old Kirwan girl charged with four offences, including torture and assault while in armed company, has been dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.<\/p>\n
Another eight people \u2014 two men aged 30 and 34, three women aged 36, 32 and 40, and three14-year-olds \u2014 were charged on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Each face multiple charges, including torture.<\/p>\n
