(Supplied)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Yesterday, police conducted a search of a 17-year-old boy&#8217;s home home in the Moonee Valley area as part of an investigation into these incidents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">They seized eight mobile phones and a large number of SIM cards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The boy has since been charged with trafficking and possessing drugs including cocaine, amphetamine and ketamine, as well as possessing counterfeit money and failing to provide information or assistance to police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">He is due to face the children&#8217;s court at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>Investigation into arson attacks expands<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\"><a class=\"Link_link__kR0xA Link_link__5eL5m ScreenReaderOnly_srLinkHint__OysWz Link_showVisited__C1Fea Link_showFocus__ALyv2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2026-04-28\/police-investigate-firebombings-melbourne-hospitality-venues\/106616158\" data-component=\"Link\" data-uri=\"coremedia:\/\/article\/106616158\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Police established Operation Eclipse in April<\/a> to investigate the suspected organised crime syndicate responsible for arson attacks on nightclubs, bars and restaurants across Melbourne, as well as people associated with those businesses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The operation has expanded to examine other acts of violence directed by this syndicate, which police believe have been undertaken to extort other businesses and control the illicit drug and tobacco markets.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Firefighters look at a white car parked sideways across a street in a shopping strip with city buildings in the background.\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/98f971b245b146df59e0f5333834ce9e.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Today&#8217;s fire is the fourth arson attack in Richmond in just over a month.
