Brisbane coach Chris Fagan remains wary of another \u201chorror game\u201d at the business end of the AFL season despite the Lions bouncing back from their heavy loss to Carlton in emphatic fashion with a 67-point demolition of Hawthorn.<\/p>\n

Thrashed by 76 points the previous week by the Blues, the back-to-back premiers hit back hard at the Gabba on Friday night with a 18.17 (125) to 8.10 (58) win.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve just got to remember our players are human,\u201d Fagan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019d won seven games in a row and had a bad day last week, but they\u2019ve always been a group over the last seven or eight years that have always been able to bounce back after disappointments.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe put that performance in the bin pretty quickly, and just moved on to this week, and I think the players appreciated that and responded well tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, with the Lions locked in a battle for a top-four spot ahead the upcoming finals seasons, Fagan knows his side can ill-afford another performance like last week at Marvel Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf the last nine games that we\u2019ve played, we\u2019ve had one game where our defensive intensity wasn\u2019t where it should be,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like all the other games were somewhere near the mark, so we\u2019ve just got to make sure we don\u2019t have another one of those horror games for the rest of the year. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the key to it all, but you could tell our energy was up from the start (against Hawthorn), whereas last week it was down.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought our defenders played well tonight. They had a bad night last week, (but on Friday night) they were on their toes and played a great game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Defensive rock Harris Andrews was immense, while in attack, Kai Lohmann had a night to remember, kicking five goals in a 24-possession performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought Kai Lohmann\u2019s performance tonight was one of the most special games I\u2019ve ever seen a small forward play,\u201d Fagan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe got a lot of the ball. His tackle pressure was sensational, and he kicked five goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe doesn\u2019t have to worry about doing all those freakish things. They just happen. When he focuses entirely on putting pressure on, his game seems to come together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Star midfielder Will Ashcroft was also superb with a game-high 39 possessions.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s hit a purple patch, hasn\u2019t he?,\u201d Fagan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a very good player. He led the way tonight in all sorts of ways. He can win his own ball, uses it well, (and) he\u2019s explosive.\u201d<\/p>\n
