A flight school has broken its silence after a flight student and instructor were killed when a light plane crashed into an Adelaide hangar last month.<\/p>\n
Instructor Robert Hoyle, 29, and a 24-year-old student died after the Diamond DA42 plunged into a hangar at Parafield Airport in Adelaide on April 29.<\/p>\n
The light plane plummeted about 30 seconds after takeoff, rolling a sharp left and crashing into the airfield. <\/p>\n
Ten others were injured in the incident, including a 55-year-old man who sustained life-threatening burns. <\/p>\n
A week after the horror incident, Flight Training Adelaide chief executive Pine Pienaar said the fatal crash was \u201ca very difficult moment for our school community\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe extend our deepest condolences to the families of our student and instructor, and we also hold in our thoughts those who sustained injuries and are receiving care,\u201d he said per 7News. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe are profoundly grateful to the South Australian emergency services \u2013 including police, ambulance, and fire crews \u2013 for their swift and courageous actions.<\/p>\n
\u201cTheir dedication in the face of such a devastating event is deeply appreciated.\u201d<\/p>\n
The school is working alongside the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and other authorities to determine the cause of the crash. <\/p>\n
\u201cOur focus remains on supporting the families, our students, staff, and the wider aviation community during this difficult time,\u201d Mr Pienaar said. <\/p>\n
