LIV\u2019s annual event at Adelaide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2025\/02\/12\/liv-golf-sees-surge-in-australian-leg-in-adelaide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2025\/02\/12\/liv-golf-sees-surge-in-australian-leg-in-adelaide\/\">has been a success<\/a>, with the event at the Grange Golf Club one of the league\u2019s \u201cbiggest money-spinners.\u201d But as LIV <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/05\/06\/scott-oneil-expresses-optimism-in-liv-golfs-future-amid-pifs-plans-to-pull-funding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/05\/06\/scott-oneil-expresses-optimism-in-liv-golfs-future-amid-pifs-plans-to-pull-funding\/\">looks for new investment with the PIF pulling out<\/a>, Malinauskas believes that LIV\u2019s \u201cbusiness model was \u2018their problem.\u2019\u201d He said, \u201cWhat matters is that we get what we pay for, and on that score, I don\u2019t think there\u2019s any doubt about the fact that it\u2019s been a massive success for our state.\u201d Malinauskas said that LIV had \u201calready signalled to the state government that it was looking at different business plans.\u201d Malinauskas: \u201cWe welcome that, and we\u2019ll be at the front of the queue if it stacks up for us. I don\u2019t owe LIV anything. The people I owe and care about are the people of South Australia, and I\u2019ll make my decisions about what\u2019s in the best interest for the state writ large.\u201d He added, \u201cThus far, it\u2019s been a massive success.
