{"id":68576,"date":"2026-08-10T03:38:21","date_gmt":"2026-08-10T03:38:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/68576\/"},"modified":"2026-08-10T03:38:21","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T03:38:21","slug":"adelaide-trains-delayed-belair-gawler-lines-hit-by-landslide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/68576\/","title":{"rendered":"Adelaide trains delayed: Belair, Gawler lines hit by landslide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Severe weekend weather has caused a landslide in the Adelaide Hills resulting in significant delays to city-bound trains.<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of commuters were left stranded after both Belair and Gawler line trains were grounded due to weather conditions and mechanical issues.<\/p>\n<p>An Adelaide Metro spokeswoman said overnight wind and rain had directly impacted the Belair rail line, with crews forced to work overnight to try and clear the wreckage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe weekend\u2019s exceptionally wet weather caused mud and debris to be washed onto the Belair rail line between Belair and Pinera last night,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCrews worked overnight to clear the debris and ensure the line could remain operational.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a precaution, trains have been travelling at reduced speeds this morning due to excess water on sections of the line.
