{"id":69088,"date":"2026-08-10T20:11:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-10T20:11:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/69088\/"},"modified":"2026-08-10T20:11:17","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T20:11:17","slug":"vietjet-to-land-at-new-sydney-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/69088\/","title":{"rendered":"Vietjet to Land at New Sydney Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vietnamese low-cost carrier <a href=\"https:\/\/airlinegeeks.com\/tag\/vietjet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"Vietjet\">Vietjet<\/a> will serve Australia\u2019s new <a href=\"https:\/\/ir.vietjetair.com\/Home\/ViewPost\/Vietjet-forges-direct-links-between-Vietnam-and-Australia-newest-international-airport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"Western Sydney Airport\">Western Sydney Airport<\/a>, the airline\u2019s leaders announced Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting Jan. 9, 2027, Vietjet will offer twice weekly flights between Western Sydney and Ho Chi Minh City. Flights will depart Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and return flights from Western Sydney will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cVietjet is proud to be among the first airlines to connect Vietnam with Western Sydney \u2013 Australia\u2019s newest international aviation gateway and an emerging center of economic growth,\u201d Vietjet CEO Nguyen Thanh Son said in a news release. \u201cWith our expanding network, modern fleet, and quality services, Vietjet looks forward to supporting stronger, more productive, and sustainable ties between Vietnam and Australia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Western Sydney \u2013 formally known as Western Sydney International Nancy Bird Walton Airport \u2013 has been under development for around 12 years. It recently opened for cargo operations and will begin commercial passenger flights in October.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The airport will supplement Sydney Airport, the busiest in Australia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Besides Vietjet, four other passenger airlines \u2013 Qantas, Jetstar, Singapore Airlines, and Air New Zealand \u2013 have announced plans to operate from the new airport. Jetstar will be first, with an inaugural flight to Gold Coast, Queensland, planned for Oct. 25.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vietjet already serves Sydney Airport, as well as Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Vietnamese low-cost carrier Vietjet will serve Australia\u2019s new Western Sydney Airport, the airline\u2019s leaders announced Monday.
