It follows residents making 2,400 reports to council about boat-trailer parking<\/a> and more than 500 reports regarding caravan parking in 2025.<\/p>\n Last week, the council unanimously voted in favour of a six-month ban on trailer and caravan parking at five suburban locations.<\/p>\n \u201cSubject to Council endorsement and approval by the Sutherland Shire Local Transport Forum (anticipated June 2026), the trial is expected to commence shortly thereafter, with implementation targeted for mid-2026,\u201d Sutherland Shire Council told Yahoo News in a statement.<\/p>\n Owners who continue to park their trailers and unhitched vans in \u201cNo Parking Motor Vehicles Excepted\u201d zones during the trial will be fined, the council confirmed.
