A young man has died in a serious workplace incident in the Adelaide Hills.<\/p>\n
SA Ambulance crews were called to Harrison Rd at Charleston, near Lobethal, at 6.20am with SES and CFS crews responding to assist with an industrial rescue.<\/p>\n
Police said a 26-year-old man from the southern suburbs was found deceased at the worksite. <\/p>\n
\u201cPolice are preparing a report for the Coroner following a workplace death at Charleston,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
\u201cSafework SA have been notified and are investigating.\u201d <\/p>\n
The incident was on open land that property records reveal is owned by Adelaide Hills Council.<\/p>\n
Adelaide Hills Council said it was aware of a fatal workplace incident in the Charleston area that was currently being attended by SAPOL, CFS and Safe Work SA.<\/p>\n
\u201cCouncil is working with emergency services to provide information and support,\u201d a spokeswoman said. <\/p>\n
\u201cOur thoughts are with the family, first responders and staff impacted.\u201d<\/p>\n
Witnesses said they saw SafeWork vehicles entering the property. <\/p>\n
The entrance to the site remained shut on Wednesday afternoon. <\/p>\n
A SafeWork SA spokesperson said personnel were on the scene investigating the incident.<\/p>\n
\u201cSafeWork SA was today notified of the death of a man in a workplace incident at Charleston in the Adelaide Hills,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cInvestigators and inspectors attended the scene and are continuing to make enquiries into the circumstances that led to the incident.\u201d<\/p>\n
A Mechanical Vegetation Solutions truck was among a number of vehicles seen leaving the site. <\/p>\n
