The suburb has added nearly 22,000 new residents between 2016 and 2021.<\/p>\n
As of the 2021 Census the population of Tarneit had grown to 56,370, a 63 per cent increase in five years.<\/p>\n
Residents listing Indian or Punjabi ancestry made up nearly 35 per cent of the population, while around one fifth were either Australian or English.<\/p>\n
