{"id":7215,"date":"2026-05-08T04:40:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T04:40:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/7215\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T04:40:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T04:40:09","slug":"meet-hoyts-apex-the-worlds-largest-indoor-cinema-screen-that-has-just-arrived-in-karrinyup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/7215\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet Hoyts APEX: The world\u2019s largest indoor cinema screen that has just arrived in Karrinyup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Moviegoers in Perth\u2019s north will be able to experience blockbusters in a whole new way, thanks to a record-breaking upgrade at a popular movie theatre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Cinema giant HOYTS unveiled a gigantic 25 metre APEX screen at its Karrinyup location earlier this week, much to the joy of Perth film buffs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The new feature has made history as the largest indoor cinema screen on the planet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Powered by more than 24 million pixels and with a display six times brighter than traditional theatres, HOYTS APEX is said to offer audiences a more immersive watching experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">It marks the second HOYTS APEX opened in Australia this week, following Melbourne Central \u2014 however, the Perth screen is three metres larger than its eastern coast counterpart.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The newest addition to the popular cinema also includes five daybeds in the front row, perfect for lazing in during a long blockbuster.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">HOYTS CEO and President Damian Keogh said the Karrinyup upgrade is a defining moment for the Australian cinema franchise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cAt HOYTS Karrinyup, we are proud to introduce the world\u2019s largest LED cinema screen,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5ac8a52cd0c48517ebcf57bc29c5f5435ef5d860.jpg\" alt=\"HOYTS APEX\" class=\"css-16r7l45-StyledImage en5ut4d0\"\/>Camera IconHOYTS APEX Credit: HOYTS Australia<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cThe scale is breathtaking, but what truly sets HOYTS APEX apart is how seamlessly the technology comes together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Adam Wrightson, the IT director of HOYTS cinema group, echoed Mr Keogh\u2019s opinion, saying the latest technology marks a new era for Australian cinema.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cHOYTS APEX delivers what is simply the most advanced big screen experience available today,\u201d Adam said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cThe LED screen is fully acoustically transparent, allowing sound to pass directly through the movie.
