{"id":72158,"date":"2026-08-14T18:46:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-14T18:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/72158\/"},"modified":"2026-08-14T18:46:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T18:46:09","slug":"stirling-council-gives-green-light-for-five-new-restaurants-and-cafes-at-central-shopping-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/72158\/","title":{"rendered":"Stirling council gives green light for five new restaurants and cafes at Central Shopping Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Westminster is set to welcome five new eateries as part of a hospitality expansion at Stirling Central Shopping Centre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Existing retail space in the centre\u2019s south-western corner will be converted into a new dining precinct featuring adjoining alfresco areas under plans submitted by the centre\u2019s owners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Four of the restaurant\/cafe\/takeaway tenancies will each be permitted to accommodate between 30 and 40 diners, while the largest, spanning 744sqm, will have capacity for about 200 guests.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Twelve parking bays will be removed to accommodate the development, though the carpark reportedly reaches only about 60 per cent capacity, even during peak periods.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The City of Stirling council unanimously gave the proposal the green light this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The project\u2019s designer, acting on behalf of the centre\u2019s owners, said the project would secure the centre\u2019s long-term future.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cThe project has been designed (with a focus on) \u2026 adapting the site to accommodate the changing needs of the owners and ensure its continued value for the near and long-term future,\u201d the designers said in the development application.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cThe goal is to create a high-quality addition, renovating the existing home, future-proofing the site commensurate with the other high-quality residences and developments in the area, in a sustainable and sensitive way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/6be7f0e8923c00e392e2b579c036b4cd84f915b7.jpg\" alt=\"The new tenancies are planned for the south-western corner of the shopping centre. \" class=\"css-16r7l45-StyledImage en5ut4d0\"\/>Camera IconThe new tenancies are planned for the south-western corner of the shopping centre.
