It\u2019s about to get very busy. Whether you\u2019re there for the runways and afterparties, or just looking for a way to fill your weekend, then rest assured, because\u00a0there\u2019s no shortage of things to do.<\/p>\n<p>Stay updated on the latest fashion and design events at FJ\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/fashionjournal.com.au\/events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Events<\/a>\u00a0section.<\/p>\n<p>From AFW\u2019s public showcases and <a href=\"https:\/\/australianfashionweek.org\/afc-talks-presented-by-afterpay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">industry talks<\/a>, to fashion pop-ups, markets, comedy shows and <a href=\"https:\/\/fashionjournal.com.au\/events\/sydney-writers-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">writers\u2019 panels<\/a>, May is not the month to stay at home.<\/p>\n<p>Australian Fashion Week<\/p>\n<p>When: May 11 to 15<\/p>\n<p>The main attraction in Sydney this month, AFW, will feature a lineup of runway shows, pop-ups, industry talks and more, spread out across the city. Although most of the AFW shows are limited to invitations, there are a number of public runways, with tickets available to purchase. The showcase, titled Parallel Frames, explores our relationship with our bodies, the clothes we dress them in, and the societal expectations of a \u2018flattering fit\u2019. Taking over Room 22 in Potts Point, the runway-turned-party will feature a lineup of DJs and performance artists throughout the night. Held at different locations throughout Sydney, the lineup features panels and talks from writers, including R. F.
