Sydney FC\u2019s attacking stocks have been boosted by the arrival of Nigerian forward Oriola Sunday.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old marksman has joined the Sky Blues on a season-long loan deal from Japanese second division club RB Omiya.<\/p>\n

Sunday could make his debut for the Patrick Kisnorbo-coached Sydneysiders on Tuesday night in an Australia Cup quarter-final against NPL NSW outfit Southern District Raiders at Fairfield Showground.<\/p>\n

\u201cOriola is a young striker with tremendous pace, excellent movement and a real willingness to work for the team,\u201d Kisnorbo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe gives us a quick and aggressive attacking option, and he has shown in Japan that he can adapt to different styles of football.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust as importantly, he\u2019s a terrific character who will fit in well with our squad and our culture.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sunday said he had learnt a lot from playing in Japan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe football there is very technical, the players are disciplined and the level is very high,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel I have improved every season, and I\u2019m excited to bring that experience with me to Australia.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve heard great things about Sydney FC and the ambitions of the club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sunday scored 15 goals in 55 appearances in all competitions for Omiya.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to score more goals that the ones I\u2019ve scored in Japan, and also I want to improve myself as a football player and a person, and I feel like I can do that here at Sydney.\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Sky Blues are one of only two remaining A-League clubs \u2013 the other being Melbourne Victory \u2013 in Australia Cup contention after a string of upsets.<\/p>\n
