Liberal Senator Sarah Henderson has called for authorities to investigate alleged threats to kill Pauline Hanson which were made at One Nation student protests<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ms Henderson raised her concerns on Sunday after thousands of students skipped school on Thursday to protest against One Nation and Pauline Hanson.<\/p>\n

There were videos from the protests in which attendees allegedly said they would kill Ms Hanson.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was completely abhorrent, what some of those students said, including threats to kill,\u201d Ms Henderson told News24.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe threat to kill Pauline Hanson was completely abhorrent. Frankly, the police must investigate because threats to kill are unlawful.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also want to see any school which participated in this protest and encouraged their students to attend; they also need to be investigated.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the teachers who encourage\u2026 students to unlawfully attend this protest because it’s against the law not to go to school, they also need to be investigated.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Henderson, who previously served as shadow education minister, has also called for reforms to the national curriculum to \u201cget back to the basics\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need a curriculum that’s evidence-based and serves the best interests of Australian children,\u201d Ms Henderson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat’s why we also, in our policy we took to the last election, we committed to review the curriculum. It’s just not serving young Australians as it should.\u201d<\/p>\n

The call comes after thousands of students ditched class on Thursday to attend \u201cSay No to Hanson\u201d protests against One Nation leader Pauline Hanson.<\/p>\n

Large crowds gathered in capital cities, with schoolchildren saying they were standing up to \u201cracism\u201d and opposing One Nation\u2019s policies.<\/p>\n

The High School Anti-Capitalists organised the demonstrations, calling on students to walk out of classrooms in opposition to One Nation.<\/p>\n

The group released a \u201cwalkout guide\u201d providing information about protest times and locations, as well as polling on One Nation\u2019s support.<\/p>\n

The protests were endorsed by Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi, who encouraged students to take part despite the demonstrations occurring during school hours.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou’re telling me that the far right is on the rise? That parties like Pauline Hanson’s One Nation want to roll back women’s rights?\u201d she said in a social media clip.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou’re sick of One Nation’s racist, sexist, anti-worker and divisive politics and want to join thousands of students on Thursday\u2026 in a protest around the country?<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd you want my permission? Of course \u2013 hope you’ve made a big sign. Have fun!\u201d<\/p>\n

By contrast, Ms Hanson strongly criticised the student walkouts, arguing schools should teach children \u201chow to think\u201d rather than \u201cwhat to think\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you want to protest something, protest why your parents’ wages are going backwards and the cost of everything is going up,\u201d she said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Labor Greens government is selling out your future, and you’ll inherit a weaker, poorer and less safe country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether you know it or not, One Nation and I are fighting for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The protests came as One Nation continues to record historically high levels of support in national polling.<\/p>\n

The latest News24.com.au Pulse \/ YouGov poll found One Nation on 24 per cent of the primary vote \u2013 up from about 6 per cent at the 2025 federal election.<\/p>\n
