Young NSW trainer Sara Ryan will become the latest head trainer at the famed Macedon Lodge property at Mount Macedon.<\/p>\n

Macedon Lodge has played a large part in the preparations of several Melbourne Cup<\/a> winners, with prominent owner Lloyd Williams a previous owner while John Symons and Sheila Laxon<\/a> prepared surprise 2024 Cup winner Knight\u2019s Choice<\/a> from the property.<\/p>\n

Symons and Laxon have reopened a training base at Macedon Lodge in the past 12 months to complement their Queensland stable at the Sunshine Coast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old Ryan<\/a> became a public trainer last year after a successful period as the private trainer for the Hong Kong-owned Domeland operation.<\/p>\n

Ryan, who initially studied biochemical engineering before embarking on her racing career, won more than 50 races for Domeland, including the 2023 Big Dance<\/a> at Randwick<\/a> with Attractable<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ryan has worked to establish her stable at Wyong<\/a> in recent times.<\/p>\n

She will retain her NSW base while branching out to a stable at Macedon Lodge.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe chance to train at Macedon Lodge was something I just couldn\u2019t pass up,\u201d Ryan said. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt gives me an incredible opportunity to grow the stable and continue developing horses at the highest level.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited to continue to build my young stable with the support of Macedon Lodge, my existing New South Wales owners and new clients in Victoria.\u201d<\/p>\n

Group 1<\/a>-winning trainer Stephen Farley<\/a> has assisted Ryan\u2019s move to public training and will continue at her NSW base while Ryan\u2019s husband, Olympic equestrian coach Will Matthew, also works in the business.<\/p>\n

Macedon Racing boss Michael Dixon said Ryan \u201cticked every box\u201d on the operation\u2019s list for a young trainer to move into the property.<\/p>\n
