{"id":73976,"date":"2026-08-17T14:34:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T14:34:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/73976\/"},"modified":"2026-08-17T14:34:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T14:34:13","slug":"virgiliu-postolachi-set-to-join-brisbane-roar-on-two-year-deal-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/73976\/","title":{"rendered":"Virgiliu Postolachi set to join Brisbane Roar on two-year deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Moldovan international striker Virgiliu Postolachi is set to join Brisbane Roar on a two-year deal.<\/p>\n<p>Postolachi, 26, has been with Universitatea Cluj since September last year but is yet to play for the Romanian top-flight club in a competitive match this season.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s understood that an agreement between the Cluj club and Brisbane has been signed, with Postolachi to soon be unveiled as a Roar player.<\/p>\n<p>Postolachi netted two goals in 19 appearances in all competitions for the Cluj outfit and has scored once in 37 appearances for Moldova.<\/p>\n<p>Born in the Moldovan city of Edinet, Postolachi moved to France as a two-year-old and played youth team football for Paris Saint-Germain.<\/p>\n<p>He later played for PSG\u2019s reserves before signing with another French club, Lille, where he also he failed to find first-team football.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, the 189cm marksman joined Belgian club Mouscron before moving on loan the following year to Danish outfit Vendsyssel.<\/p>\n<p>Postolachi has also had spells with two other Romanian clubs, UTA Arad and CFR Cluj, as well as French team Grenoble.<\/p>\n<p>The Roar squad travels to Indonesia next week for friendly games against Dewa United and Persija Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Roar chief executive Kaz Patafta said: \u201cThis is a piece of history for our football club, and a trip we have been working on for some time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are going there to be tested and continue our preparations for the A-League season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Originally published as <a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.news.com.au\/sport\/football\/brisbane-roar-land-moldovan-international-striker-virgiliu-postolachi\/news-story\/89d261245c21f51a84da736683458794\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brisbane Roar lands Moldovan international striker Virgiliu Postolachi<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Moldovan international striker Virgiliu Postolachi is set to join Brisbane Roar on a two-year deal.
