Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today Arrow<\/a><\/p>\n Hooper left her home on Burragorang Rd in Oakdale about 8am on Wednesday to go bushwalking in the national park<\/a> but has not been seen since.<\/p>\n The only clue to her whereabouts has been her car, which was found about 11pm on Wednesday at the beginning of the Bonnum Pic walking trail on Wanganderry Rd.<\/p>\n Search efforts have focused on the walking trail as initial inquiries suggest she sent a photo of herself at the summit to her family about mid-morning. It was the last known communication from the teenager before she vanished.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve just found no trace of Lily,\u201d Chief Inspector Brendan Bernie told Sunrise on Monday.<\/p>\n A ground effort would be launched on Monday after a police helicopter was used to search the area on Sunday night.<\/p>\n It follows a weekend of poor weather<\/a> which hampered already challenging conditions for the search teams.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s quite dense with the bushland and there\u2019s a dense tree canopy which also hinders our aerial searching,\u201d Bernie said.<\/p>\n \u201cHowever, look, we\u2019re on the ground (and) there\u2019s good support from the local community and our volunteers are doing a fantastic job in working with our specialist search officers from Police Rescue.\u201d<\/p>\n While concerns are growing for Hooper, police still hold out hope for the \u201cexperienced hiker\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cWe know she\u2019s got certain equipment with her. We don\u2019t know that exact equipment and that\u2019s part of the concern we have today, what she actually has with her,\u201d Bernie said.<\/p>\n \u201cBut hopefully we\u2019re relying on Lily\u2019s experience to get her through this ordeal and that we can locate her safely.\u201d<\/p>\n NSW Police Detective Inspector Benjamin Carey on the weekend said her family was \u201cdesperately trying to find her\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n Carey said the family is \u201cvery, very distraught\u201d and police are \u201cdoing everything we can to support them in this challenging time\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are very hopeful that Lily is still alive and we are focusing our efforts on searching for her today and hopefully delivering that outcome,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Hooper is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, of slim build, with long blonde hair and blue eyes.<\/p>\n She was last seen wearing a shirt and shorts.<\/p>\n Anyone with information about Hooper\u2019s whereabouts, or walked the Bonnum Pic Walking Trail since Wednesday, is urged to contact Moss Vale Police Station or Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Weather complicates search for missing teenage hiker<\/p>\n 2 min read<\/p>\n![\"Police](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/7ae6fbe11c80a6e92e64ed9f3c9fef4d48822c55.jpg\")
