A beloved specialty restaurant in Western Australia has announced it will close its doors in 2027, leaving staff \u201csaddened\u201d by the shock update. <\/p>\n

C Restaurant in Perth, a revolving venue with a view of the city skyline, has announced it will be closing from January 31, 2027. <\/p>\n

The announcement follows the news that St Martin\u2019s Tower, the building which houses the restaurant, will be redeveloped and converted into a hotel. <\/p>\n

C Restaurant owner Olivier Letrone said working for the restaurant has been \u201cone of the great privileges of my life\u201d and expressed his sadness at the closing of the business. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m enormously proud that our entire team, more than 90 people, has chosen to stay with us right through to the very end,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat loyalty is humbling, and it\u2019s the very reason C Restaurant has thrived for so long. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe intend to finish the way we\u2019ve always operated: as a family, and at the top of our game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Letrone said telling his team was one the \u201chardest conversations of my career\u201d but said he was looking to find a new location for his business to continue growing.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor more than 20 years, C Restaurant has meant more to me than just a business; it has been one of the great privileges of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe told the team in person \u2026 the grace and understanding they showed in that moment said everything about the people who make this place what it is, and it only deepened the emotion in the room.\u201c<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re already working on a new venue, though it may not necessarily be fine dining \u2026 what I can promise is that the team\u2019s passion for hospitality isn\u2019t going anywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ann-Marie Gill, C Restaurant\u2019s general manager, said the time she has spent working for the restaurant has been \u201csome of the most rewarding of my career\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking alongside such a dedicated team and helping create memorable experiences for our guests has been a real privilege,\u201d she said <\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough it\u2019s difficult to say goodbye, I\u2019ll always be proud to have been part of C Restaurant\u2019s story.\u201d<\/p>\n

C Restaurant has been in operation for more than 20 years, after it was first established in 2001. <\/p>\n

It was taken over from the previous business, Hilite 33, who were the first occupants of the timeless revolving venue from 1978. <\/p>\n

It was also one of Australia\u2019s earliest revolving restaurants. <\/p>\n

The restaurant sits 33 stories high and prides itself on numerous accolades including countless Gold Plate Awards and a place on the WA Good Food Guide\u2019s Icons List.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur focus, right up until the very last day of trading, is exactly what it\u2019s always been: beautiful food, warm service and experiences our guests will remember,\u201d Mr Letrone said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery service between now and January 31 is a chance for Perth to come back, enjoy the room one more time, and raise a glass to what we\u2019ve shared up here in the sky.\u201c<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile its doors will close on 31 January 2027, the memories made here will endure long after the restaurant completes its final turn.\u201d<\/p>\n
