A 29-year-old woman has died while unloading a car from a truck in a towing yard in the Perth suburb of Osborne Park this morning.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were alerted to an incident at Auto Tow Services, near the corner of Sundercombe Street and Collingwood Street in the city’s north, about 5:40am.<\/p>\n

The woman received emergency first aid but died at the scene, with police describing the death as a “workplace incident”.\u00a0<\/p>\n

WorkSafe WA confirmed the woman was a tow truck driver at the yard, and that it had launched an investigation.<\/p>\n

“The woman was reported to have been unloading a car from a tow truck tilt tray when the fatal incident occurred,” it said in a statement.<\/p>\n

“WorkSafe investigators thoroughly examine the circumstances of incidents with a view to ensuring compliance and preventing future incidents of a similar nature.”<\/p>\n

Auto Tow Services described the death as a “tragic loss” for the team.<\/p>\n

“She was much loved here, and our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones,” they said.<\/p>\n

The Transport Workers Union’s WA branch said it was also investigating the incident.<\/p>\n

WA’s Shadow Industrial Relations Minister Steve Thomas said his sympathies were with the woman’s family.<\/p>\n
