(Supplied)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Mr Hossain was granted bail last March after being charged with forgery and uttering a forged document in relation to Ms Parvin&#8217;s death certificate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">In the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday, defence lawyer Torik Dib argued that the death certificate was not forged, and it was a legitimate government document from Bangladesh.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Mr Dib sought an adjournment for a bail application due to the complexities of the case.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">He said he would apply to change the bail conditions that prevent the 49-year-old from selling properties owned by the husband and wife.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;It&#8217;s a bit complicated of a bail variation because the crux of it is related to the political climate overseas,&#8221; Mr Dib said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;The government&#8217;s closed there, and there&#8217;s a shutdown and so on.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Court documents, seen by the ABC, say the bail conditions apply to three properties jointly owned by Ms Parvin and Mr Hossain in Blenheim, Lanefield and Churchable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The documents said it was alleged that Mr Hossain, who works as a welder, forged a death certificate last January &#8220;with intent to defraud&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Rehana Parvin in professional portrait\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/8db99aebac8738bc4b53b51c2fcf2689.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Rehana Parvin&#8217;s mother reported her missing and lodged a case with local police in August 2024. (Supplied)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Prosecutor Jordan Theed said the bail matter was &#8220;linked with other factors&#8221; in Bangladesh &#8220;in terms of whether (Mr Hossain) was involved in the death&#8221; of Ms Parvin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The court heard on Thursday that three of Mr Hossain\u2019s relatives in Bangladesh had been charged in relation to Ms Parvin\u2019s alleged murder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">In August 2024, Ms Parvin&#8217;s mother reported her missing and lodged a case with local police, accusing four people including her estranged husband Awlad Hossain, of kidnapping her.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Police have since identified a fifth person of interest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Mr Hossain travelled to Bangladesh on June 29 and returned to Australia on July 13.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Bangladeshi police have issued an arrest warrant for Mr Hossain, but he has not been charged there, or in Australia, over the death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The ABC does not suggest that he had any involvement in Ms Parvin&#8217;s suspected murder or disappearance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Mr Dib said he was waiting on documents from a lawyer in Bangladesh for the bail application.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">He said Mr Hossain could not appear in court as he worked five days a week and the repayments on the three properties were becoming &#8220;an issue.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;Perhaps there&#8217;s a resolution such as it could be sold and placed into a trust account,&#8221; Mr Dib said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Mr Theed said the sale of the properties would likely be opposed by the prosecution.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The bail application was adjourned to June 11.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The estranged husband of an Australian woman, who police suspect was murdered overseas, has been charged in Brisbane&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":7512,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[22,21,8829,8827,1109,8316,8828,8826],"class_list":["post-7511","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-australia","tag-au","tag-austrlia","tag-awlad-hossain","tag-bangladesh","tag-court","tag-doha","tag-forgery","tag-rehana-parvin"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/7511","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=7511"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/7511\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/7512"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=7511"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=7511"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=7511"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
