A man has been charged after he allegedly tried to evade officers and hit a police vehicle in an inner-city Brisbane suburb.<\/p>\n
Fortitude Valley Tactical Crime Squad officers were patrolling at 5pm on Thursday when they saw a dark grey Volkswagen Golf driving north on Petrie Terrace.<\/p>\n
Police tried to intercept the Volkswagen on Pratten Street, where the car allegedly crashed into a police vehicle and retaining wall as it attempted to flee.<\/p>\n
The driver was removed from the car by police and taken into custody.<\/p>\n
No injuries to officers or members of the public were reported.<\/p>\n
Police will also allege that officers found dangerous drugs, weapons and property suspected to be linked to further drug offences during a search of the Volkswagen.<\/p>\n
A 52-year-old man has been charged with eight alleged offences, including evasion offence previous convictions, endangering a police officer while driving a motor vehicle and possessing dangerous drugs.<\/p>\n
He also faces charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, unlawful possession of weapons, possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence and driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence and possessing a dangerous drug.<\/p>\n
The man is expected to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.<\/p>\n
