Adelaide is in for a cool, showery stretch this week, with the wettest weather set to arrive tonight and into Wednesday before conditions settle into a run of chilly late-winter days.<\/p>\n

Today starts partly cloudy across Adelaide, but showers are expected to build through the day and become most likely by this evening. There\u2019s also a chance of thunderstorms brushing southern coastal parts later tonight, possibly extending towards southern central areas, including Adelaide, around midnight. The city is expected to reach 19 degrees, with north to northeasterly winds picking up again in the evening after easing late this afternoon. <\/p>\n

Wednesday looks to be the wettest day of the week for the metro area, with a very high chance of showers, most likely in the morning, before things gradually ease later in the day. There\u2019s also a slight thunderstorm risk about the hills in the early morning. Temperatures will dip, with Adelaide forecast to range from 11 degrees to 17 degrees, while northerly winds turn westerly by early afternoon, adding to that noticeably cooler feel.<\/p>\n

By Thursday, the weather calms down, although it stays cool. Adelaide is heading for a partly cloudy day with just a slight chance of a morning shower and a top of 17 degrees after a chilly 9 degrees start. Friday follows a similar pattern, with light winds and a medium chance of a passing shower, and temperatures slipping a little further to 16 degrees.<\/p>\n

The weekend keeps that late-winter mood in place. Saturday brings another partly cloudy day with a medium chance of showers, most likely in the morning, and temperatures between 9 degrees and 17 degrees. Sunday looks to be one of the better days of the seven-day outlook, with only a slight chance of a shower, light winds, and a slightly milder top of 18 degrees.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead to Monday, cloud lingers and showers return to the forecast, with a medium chance of a shower or two as northeasterly winds freshen during the morning before tending northerly. Adelaide is expected to start at 10 degrees and climb to 17 degrees, rounding out a week that never really strays far from cool, changeable conditions.<\/p>\n

Across South Australia, the broader picture is more active, especially away from the metro area. Rain and showers are moving across central and eastern parts today, clearing from the west later on, while thunderstorms are possible in parts of the North East Pastoral this morning and around the Flinders and Pastoral districts this afternoon. <\/p>\n

On Wednesday, wetter weather contracts eastwards through the day, although showers and possible thunderstorms will continue across central and eastern districts before easing back towards the northeast and southern coasts. From Thursday into Friday, attention shifts to the state\u2019s far north and northeast, where showers, periods of rain, and possible thunderstorms could bring some of the highest totals. <\/p>\n

Elsewhere, mornings will turn notably cold, with fog and frost patches developing in parts of the agricultural area and inland districts. Rainfall totals through to the end of Friday are generally expected to sit between 2 and 10mm, increasing to 10 to 20mm about the Mount Lofty Ranges, parts of the eastern agricultural districts, and northern parts of the Pastoral districts, with isolated thunderstorm falls of 20 to 40mm possible.<\/p>\n
