Swans scandal: Lawyer says club leaders also in hotel room"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The lawyer for two of the women involved in the Sydney Swans sexual assault scandal has labelled what allegedly happened to his clients in a Melbourne CBD hotel room the most \u201cdisgusting and degrading\u201d thing he has heard in his nearly three decades on the job.<\/p>\n<p>Carbone Lawyers personal injury head John Karantzis on Friday claimed there were a lot more than five men in the Pullman East Melbourne hotel room and the mix included \u201cleaders\u201d of the Swans club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith what has been alleged, these women were subject to the most disgusting actions and behaviour I have ever heard about in my 28 years as a lawyer,\u201d Mr Karantzis told 3AW\u2019s Tom Elliott.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese women already have a difficult job and what they were subjected to is alleged, demeaning, abhorrent, and simply not moral or acceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked about the number of men in the room \u2014 and their identities \u2014 Mr Karantzis said the whole truth was yet to come out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s more than five (men in the room), that\u2019s for sure,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore than five men and it\u2019s alleged that there were even a few leaders in that room.<\/p>\n<p>When Mr Elliot asked if he meant coaches Mr Karantzis said: \u201cI can\u2019t say in concern to that, that is for the Sydney Swans to say\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Karantzis\u2019 comments came after the woman who alleges she was sexually assaulted at the hotel after being hired by Sydney Swans players to perform lap dances<a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldsun.com.au\/truecrimeaustralia\/police-courts-victoria\/woman-at-centre-of-alleged-sydney-swans-sex-assault-scandal-tells-of-pullman-hotel-ordeal\/news-story\/4d617774b5d9dd73e9c0b9a1ded2af6a\"
