The Adelaide Footy League Women\u2019s competition has been packed with major local talent for a number of years and 2026 has been no exception.<\/p>\n
Based on this season\u2019s form and with the help of league insiders, we\u2019ve analysed a number of divisions to rank the top 40 players in the competition for season 2026.<\/p>\n
Here are our rankings from 40 to 1.<\/p>\n
40. SUSAN MOUNTSTEPHEN<\/p>\n
(West Croydon)<\/p>\n
A star forward for West Croydon, Mountstephen leads all women\u2019s competitions for goals kicked.<\/p>\n
Mountstephen is a strong and skilled player who leads well, creates space in possession and finishes efficiently.<\/p>\n
Has 59 goals so far.<\/p>\n
39. AKEIRA WHICHELLO<\/p>\n
(Eastern Park)<\/p>\n
A former star in the Barossa Light and Gawler FA, Whichello has been impressive for Eastern Park this year.<\/p>\n
The Demons gun is a hard worker around the ground who lays big tackles, wins contested footy and disposes well.<\/p>\n
38. NATASHA HOLMES<\/p>\n
(Pulteney)<\/p>\n
The division four medallist this season, Holmes has put together a big year.<\/p>\n
A tough and athletic player, Holmes wins plenty of the footy in the contest and does damage by hand and foot.<\/p>\n
Has 13 best player nods in 14 games.<\/p>\n
37. EMILY VIVIAN<\/p>\n
(Mitcham)<\/p>\n
One of Mitcham\u2019s most reliable players this year.<\/p>\n
A strong player on the ball who finds teammates with ease and applies tackle pressure.<\/p>\n
Has six best player nods in 10 games.<\/p>\n
36. JESS PATCHING<\/p>\n
(Edwardstown)<\/p>\n
A dual league medallist, Patching remains a weapon for Edwardstown.<\/p>\n
The club captain leads from the front with her ability to apply strong pressure in the contest, win the footy and find teammates.<\/p>\n
35. ABBIE PLAYER<\/p>\n
(Broadview)<\/p>\n
A reliable player in the contest and up front, Player has been one of Broadview\u2019s best this year.<\/p>\n
Has a nose for goal and is one of her side\u2019s cleanest players by hand and foot.<\/p>\n
Has 21 goals and three best player performances.<\/p>\n
34. NICOLE HOOPER<\/p>\n
(Brighton Bombers)<\/p>\n
Former West Adelaide SANFLW player Hooper has been strong for the Bombers this year.<\/p>\n
Playing in the contest and up front, Hooper makes good decisions and has no issue hitting the scoreboard.<\/p>\n
Has 25 goals and five best player nods in 15 games.<\/p>\n
33. GEORGIA EMES<\/p>\n
(Goodwood Saints)<\/p>\n
A rising young gun for Sturt and Goodwood Saints, Emes has been important this year.<\/p>\n
Emes can play off half-back or through the midfield with her ability to read the game and do damage by foot.<\/p>\n
Has 10 best player nods in 13 games.<\/p>\n
32. ABBEY SCHEER<\/p>\n
(Angle Vale)<\/p>\n
Scheer has been one of Angle Vale\u2019s best this season.<\/p>\n
A versatile player who can do damage up front or through the midfield, Scheer is one of her team\u2019s craftiest stars.<\/p>\n
Has eight best player performances through 17 games.<\/p>\n
31. SASKIA REYNOLDS<\/p>\n
(Mitcham)<\/p>\n
Former Sturt SANFLW player Reynolds has been at her best for Mitcham in division three this season.<\/p>\n
A small defender who can also dominate through the middle as a tough and courageous player with good skills.<\/p>\n
Has 12 best player nods in 17 games.<\/p>\n
30. BRIDIE LUKICH<\/p>\n
(Angle Vale)<\/p>\n
Lukich has had a big year in the AdFL.<\/p>\n
The rising star teenager provides damaging run through the middle and is precise with her disposal.<\/p>\n
Has three best player performances in 10 games.<\/p>\n
29. CHLOE HARDING<\/p>\n
(Morphettville Park)<\/p>\n
Former Glenelg player Harding has had another standout year in the Adelaide Footy League.<\/p>\n
A hard worker who never drops her intensity through four quarters and wins important possessions for her side.<\/p>\n
Has six best player nods in 13 games.<\/p>\n
28. ALICE WINTER<\/p>\n
(Old Ignatians)<\/p>\n
Winter has starred for Old Ignatians yet again this year.<\/p>\n
A versatile midfielder who damages opposition with her speed and defensive pressure, Winter is one of the best users of the football in her division.<\/p>\n
Has 11 best player nods in 12 games.<\/p>\n
27. ANJA BANCEVIC<\/p>\n
(Brighton Bombers)<\/p>\n
Also a part of North Adelaide\u2019s SANFLW program, Bancevic has been dominant for the Bombers.<\/p>\n
A standout on and behind the footy who can take big marks, win the footy and distribute efficiently.<\/p>\n
Seven best player nods in 12 games.<\/p>\n
26. TIMEKA COX<\/p>\n
(Broadview)<\/p>\n
A promising player who has been important for Broadview this season.<\/p>\n
Cox is a versatile asset who can fill a number of roles with her aerial ability and reliable distribution around the ground.<\/p>\n
25. ISABEL SPOONER<\/p>\n
(Lockleys)<\/p>\n
This season\u2019s division three medallist, Spooner has had a big season for the Demons.<\/p>\n
A workhorse around the ground who wins the ball inside and is a reliable distributor.<\/p>\n
Has six best player nods and 13 goals in 14 games.<\/p>\n
24. ASHA GOOLEY<\/p>\n
(Henley)<\/p>\n
One of Henley\u2019s best this division one season.<\/p>\n
A rising young gun for the Sharks and WWTFC\u2019s U18s side, Gooley is a hard runner who covers ground well, finds a tonne of footy and delivers efficiently.<\/p>\n
Four best player nods in 12 games.<\/p>\n
23. BRITTANY PERRY<\/p>\n
(Angle Vale)<\/p>\n
A star midfielder who can also play a role up front, former division two medallist Brittany Perry has been dominant for Angle Vale in D1.<\/p>\n
Wins her fair share of the footy in the contest and has the ability to find teammates efficiently by hand or foot while under pressure.<\/p>\n
Has eight best player nods in 12 games.<\/p>\n
22. LAUREN BUNGEY<\/p>\n
(Happy Valley)<\/p>\n
An integral part of Happy Valley\u2019s side.<\/p>\n
Bungey is an athletic and hardworking player around the ground who brings a presence in the air and is a good decision maker.<\/p>\n
Has nine best player nods in 13 games.<\/p>\n
21. TAYLOR HAND<\/p>\n
(Payneham Norwood Union)<\/p>\n
Former Norwood and Adelaide Uni player Taylor Hand has been dominant since joining the Falcons.<\/p>\n
A versatile player with great skills and a high footy IQ, Hand is one of her side\u2019s most reliable.<\/p>\n
Has nine best player nods so far.<\/p>\n
20. NICOLETTE DUNN<\/p>\n
(Morphettville Park)<\/p>\n
One of Morphettville Park\u2019s best for a number of seasons, Dunn has been strong again in 2026.<\/p>\n
A highly skilled player in the contest who finds plenty of the footy and is efficient by hand and foot.<\/p>\n
19. COURTNEY GUTSCHMIDT<\/p>\n
(Happy Valley)<\/p>\n
One of Happy Valley\u2019s major standouts this season.<\/p>\n
Formerly a star player with Willunga in the GSFL, Gutschmidt can dominate inside with her ability to win the footy and distribute quickly.<\/p>\n
18. TEAGAN DUNBAR<\/p>\n
(Henley)<\/p>\n
The top goalkicker in division one again this season, Dunbar remains a weapon up front.<\/p>\n
A smart player up front who executes leads well, takes strong marks and either boots important goals or creates opportunities for her teammates.<\/p>\n
Has 36 majors and five best player performances in 15 games.<\/p>\n
17. BRIANNA ARTHUR<\/p>\n
(Broadview)<\/p>\n
Returning to Broadview last year after time with North Adelaide\u2019s SANFLW side, Arthur has had another big season with the Tigers.<\/p>\n
A star midfielder who wins the footy in the contest and damages opposition with her creative disposal.<\/p>\n
Has eight best player nods in 15 games.<\/p>\n
16. JORJA HOOPER<\/p>\n
(Happy Valley)<\/p>\n
A former gun for South Adelaide in the SANFLW, Hooper has been a standout in div one.<\/p>\n
Hooper is a versatile player who is strong on the ball, tackles hard and distributes efficiently.<\/p>\n
Has five best player nods through 12 games.<\/p>\n
15. SASKIA KELLAWAY<\/p>\n
(Glenunga)<\/p>\n
One of Sturt\u2019s most promising youngsters, Kellaway has also been important for the Rams this year.<\/p>\n
A highly skilled player who can play in a number of roles and has been a standout through the middle, Kellaway\u2019s ability to weave through the contest and deliver makes her a weapon.<\/p>\n
Has six best player nods in 10 games.<\/p>\n
14. SHAKIRA JARVIS<\/p>\n
(Tea Tree Gully)<\/p>\n
An explosive player out of the middle who is a consistent gun for TTG.<\/p>\n
Jarvis can take over a game with her ability to win the footy, provide important run and carry and damage by foot.<\/p>\n
Has six best player performances in 14 games.<\/p>\n
13. AMELIA PERTINI<\/p>\n
(Payneham Norwood Union)<\/p>\n
Part of Norwood\u2019s inaugural U18 girls team, Pertini has emerged as a promising young star for PNU in the Adelaide Footy League.<\/p>\n
A versatile player who reads the game well and can cut opposition up with her distribution.<\/p>\n
Has eight best player nods in 11 games.<\/p>\n
12. MIA SMITH<\/p>\n
(Henley)<\/p>\n
Also a young gun for the Eagles in the SANFLW, Smith has been an important player for Henley when available.<\/p>\n
A great runner through the middle and around the ground who does damage by hand and foot.<\/p>\n
Has seven best player nods in nine games.<\/p>\n
11. GRACE WHITTAKER<\/p>\n
(Hectorville)<\/p>\n
A force for Hectorville in division two.<\/p>\n
Whittaker has been a consistently dangerous player around the ground who competes well in the air and consistently boots goals.<\/p>\n
26 majors and seven best player mentions in 11 games.<\/p>\n
10. BROOKLYN MCIVER<\/p>\n
(Angle Vale)<\/p>\n
A consistent star for Angle Vale through this season.<\/p>\n
McIver boasts great hand and foot skills and has the ability to hit the scoreboard consistently while also creating for her teammates.<\/p>\n
Has seven best player nods and 11 goals in nine games.<\/p>\n
9. CAITLEN TEAGUE<\/p>\n
(Angle Vale)<\/p>\n
A former club best and fairest who has been at her best this year, Angle Vale star Caitlen Teague continues to lead by example.<\/p>\n
A tough player in the contest who wins plenty of the ball and distributes efficiently.<\/p>\n
Has eight best player nods in nine games.<\/p>\n
8. AMIE BLANDEN<\/p>\n
(Payneham Norwood Union)<\/p>\n
A force for PNU this season, Woodville-West Torrens player Blanden has been dominant in 2026.<\/p>\n
Dominates in the air as a standout utility, creating for her teammates in the middle and also possessing the ability to hit the scoreboard.<\/p>\n
Has eight goals and six best player nods in 13 games.<\/p>\n
7. SINEAD SAUNDERS<\/p>\n
(Port District)<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s division two medallist, Saunders has been a standout for Port District.<\/p>\n
The West Adelaide player is hard at it in the middle, winning plenty of the footy consistently and disposing well.<\/p>\n
Has 10 best player nods in 13 games.<\/p>\n
6. SASHA BRANSON<\/p>\n
(Broadview)<\/p>\n
An up and coming young star with SANFLW experience, Branson has been a force for Broadview when available for the Tigers.<\/p>\n
A tall, agile and athletic player with great skills who makes good decisions under pressure.<\/p>\n
Has four best player nods in seven games.<\/p>\n
5. CELESTINA DONA<\/p>\n
(Morphettville Park)<\/p>\n
Former D1 medallist Celestina Dona was not as available for the Roos this season as previous seasons but was undoubtedly among the division\u2019s best when playing.<\/p>\n
A versatile gun who can play any role her side needs, Dona wins plenty of the footy and is a reliable distributor.<\/p>\n
Eight best player nods in eight games.<\/p>\n
4. SUMMER NELSON<\/p>\n
(Tea Tree Gully)<\/p>\n
One of division two\u2019s top performers this season, Nelson has had a strong year with the Gullies.<\/p>\n
Nelson is a smooth mover who finds plenty of the footy and disposes efficiently.<\/p>\n
Has six best player performances this season.<\/p>\n
3. LAYLA ROGERS<\/p>\n
(Happy Valley)<\/p>\n
Joining Happy Valley this year and finishing joint runner-up in the medal count with Henley\u2019s Eliza Cooper, Rogers has been a consistent weapon for her club.<\/p>\n
Fights hard in the contest, creates space in possession and delivers efficiently.<\/p>\n
Has nine best player nods in 13 games.<\/p>\n
2. ELIZA COOPER<\/p>\n
(Henley)<\/p>\n
A superstar for Henley yet again this season, Cooper has been a major standout in D1.<\/p>\n
A ball magnet in the contest who covers ground well, distributes efficiently and creates goalkicking chances for her teammates.<\/p>\n

Taking out this year\u2019s Hannah Dutschke Medal as the top player in division one, Jones has been a force around the contest for the Tigers.<\/p>\n
