Exhibition at Arts Centre Melbourne Debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hugh Jackman as Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz, 2006\u00b7Photo: Courtesy of Jeff Busby<\/p>\n<p>From Kylie Minogue\u2019s gold hot pants to Baz Luhrmann\u2019s glowing La Boh\u00e8me sign, some of Australia\u2019s most memorable performing arts objects have been pulled out of the archives and thrust into the spotlight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 font-serif text-base text-left\">Arts Centre Melbourne marks the 50th anniversary of the Australian Performing Arts Collection with a new exhibition celebrating the stories behind the country\u2019s stages, screens and concert halls. Opening at the Australian Museum of Performing Arts (AMPA),<a target=\"_blank\" class=\"inline cursor-pointer border-b border-current pb-0 transition duration-100 hover:border-dotted\" href=\"https:\/\/www.artscentremelbourne.com.au\/ampa\/exhibitions\/encore\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-bsx-external-link-tracked=\"true\"> <\/a><a target=\"_blank\" class=\"inline cursor-pointer border-b border-current pb-0 transition duration-100 hover:border-dotted\" href=\"https:\/\/www.artscentremelbourne.com.au\/ampa\/exhibitions\/encore\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-bsx-external-link-tracked=\"true\">Encore! 50 Objects. 50 Years. One Collection<\/a> showcases 50 standout pieces from the national collection, many of which have never been displayed publicly before.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 font-serif text-base text-left\">The exhibition covers 170 years of Australian performing arts history, moving from opera and ballet to theatre, music, dance, TV and more.
