Four Australians linked to an alleged assault at a Bali bar that has left a Perth father dead have flown back into Australia, with police now probing the incident.<\/p>\n

Paul Dougan died on Thursday, his son said online, after allegedly being assaulted at a bar on the island 10 days ago.<\/p>\n

Denpasar Police have confirmed four Australians are being investigated over Mr Dougan\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

Police suspect four individuals were involved in the alleged assault and departed Indonesia for Australia the day after the incident on August 6.<\/p>\n

It is understood all four flew back to Avalon Airport in Melbourne.<\/p>\n

In a statement provided to local media, police said they had reviewed CCTV and spoken to witnesses.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe victim intervened to reprimand the man, which was received poorly, leading all four men to assault the victim,\u201d media were told.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir departure is a key fact currently being investigated, alongside details regarding their respective whereabouts at the time of the incident, their roles in the event, their relationships with one another, and the sequence of activities before and after the incident.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Dougan\u2019s son Liam said his father\u2019s death was not an accident.<\/p>\n

\u201cDad did not simply pass away,\u201d Liam said online.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey kicked and beat my dad leaving him in a life-threatening condition, leaving him dead.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey will be found, there will be justice, but none of this will bring dad back.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Gosnells Hawks Football club, in Perth\u2019s southeast, paid tribute to Mr Dougan saying his loss would be deeply felt by everyone who knew him.<\/p>\n

\u201cPaul was a much loved father, grandfather and member of the wider Gosnells community,\u201d a post read.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur thoughts are with the entire Dougan family, and we hope they find strength and comfort in each other and in the love and support of those around them.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe entire Gosnells Football Club community stands with you during this heartbreaking time.\u201d<\/p>\n

A fundraiser set up initially for the family\u2019s medical bills surpassed $60,000 on Friday.<\/p>\n

Liam Dougan posted updates to his public social media accounts after the attack as his family travelled from Perth to Indonesia to support his father. <\/p>\n

The incident happened in central Kuta. Hospital care in the ICU had been costing $4000-$5000 per day, Liam said, as doctors needed to make four blood transfusions and put drains in his lungs and abdomen.<\/p>\n

Late on Thursday, the family revealed Mr Dougan had died.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was not an accident. Dad did not simply pass away,\u201d Liam said online.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey kicked and beat my dad leaving him in a life-threatening condition, leaving him dead.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are the reason I will never see my dad again. They are the reason my kids one day won\u2019t meet their pop.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy did this happen? Why my dad? Questions that I will never get the answer to.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey will be found, there will be justice, but none of this will bring dad back,\u201d Liam said.<\/p>\n

Wellwishers offered condolences online to the family of the man known as \u2018Rabbit\u2019, with other people adding the incident was a tragic reminder to buy travel insurance.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou shall be missed Rabbit, was a great honour to have met you. Shall have a beer in your honour when I get down to Bali next. Rest in peace mate,\u201d one man wrote.<\/p>\n
