teeming with Great Whites and tiger sharks <\/a>trying to eat a dead whale carcass. <\/p>\n\u201cIt was a once-in-a-lifetime experience,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Nathan said he visited the spot twice after his girlfriend and a bunch of mates wanted to watch the feeding frenzy in action.<\/p>\n
When the lads were asked what it felt like being so close to a great white, the interview veered into uncharted \u2014 albeit hilarious \u2014 waters.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was like a chameleon in a bag of Skittles,\u201d Nathan said as the studio broke out in laughter.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t know what to do. [The shark] was probably around five to six-and-a-half metres.\u201d<\/p>\n
The interview took another hilarious turn when Lachie pulled a lobster to his face and began using it as a microphone. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a bit of a code brown for Nath. He blew a hole in his boardies,\u201d Lachie quipped, this time with laughs in the studio getting louder.<\/p>\n
\u201cLachie, now, the shark went for the engine a couple of times, were you worried at that point? Come on, you\u2019ve got to have been a little bit nervous?\u201d presenter Lizzie Pearl asked.<\/p>\n
He said everyone was having a good time until \u201cthe big one arrived\u201d and started circling their boat.<\/p>\n
\u201cYeah, once she showed up, we were out like a fart in a hurricane,\u201d Nathan joked. The presenters broke out in uncontrolled laughter.<\/p>\n
When Pearl tried to say the shark was giving the boat \u201ca little kiss,\u201d Nathan hit back, saying it had bitten harder earlier in the morning and friends on the vessel almost fell over.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re still looking for Finn,\u201d Lachie joked in an apparent reference to a mate.<\/p>\n
When pressed on the lobster mic, Lachie made sure the presenters knew the crustacean\u2019s name wasn\u2019t Mike.<\/p>\n
\u201cYeah, his name\u2019s not Mike, but he is a mic.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pearl thanked the boys and asked if they had anymore analogies to share. <\/p>\n
\u201cNa, you\u2019ll just have to get us back on,\u201d Lachie quipped.<\/p>\n
The appearance led one of the presenters to proclaim the duo deserved their own show while co-presenter Michael Atkinson said they were talented enough to host Weekend Today.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think they deserve it,\u201d fellow co-host Alison Piotrowski chimed in.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s believed the sharks had been feeding on a dead whale carcass.<\/p>\n
A videographer captured the moment a humpback whale became a dinner feast for sharks on Friday.<\/p>\n
Trent Micallef shared this footage of one shark munching on the whale carcass near Kioloa, describing the scene as \u201cthe circle of life\u201d.<\/p>\n
Additional drone footage captured by Micallef shows sharks swimming around the whale. <\/p>\n
\u201cA once in a lifetime opportunity to witness a great white this size,\u201d he wrote to Instagram. <\/p>\n
