Not content with a Curragh five-timer on Saturday, Dylan Browne McMonagle carried over his streak to Deauville on Sunday when guiding Defiantly\u00a0(Kameko) to a dominant win in the G2 Sumbe Prix Kergorlay.<\/p>\n
Sent to the front from the break, Australia Bloodstock’s impressive Goodwood Handicap winner kept it honest throughout the 15-furlong test and as a result took the high-class mare Santorini Star (Golden Horn) and the 2024 and 2025 winner Double Major (Daiwa Major) out of their comfort zones.<\/p>\n
At the line, the margins were 5 1\/2 and five lengths, with Joseph O’Brien’s four-year-old now guaranteed a berth in the Melbourne Cup after winning this.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe’s got better with every run this year and is a strong stayer who is always behind the bridle,\u201d the jockey sensation of 2026 said. \u201cHe picked up well off the bend and kept finding. There doesn’t seem to be a bottom to him, he always keeps a bit in the locker and he killed them off one by one. He handles fast ground well, so the owners have a nice fun horse to go to Melbourne with.\u201d<\/p>\n
