A woman is being investigated by NSW Police after allegedly directing an anti-Semitic slur at Jewish players during a children\u2019s netball game at Maroubra in Sydney\u2019s eastern suburbs on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Police were called to the Heffron Park netball courts on Saturday morning and it was alleged that a parent watching from the sidelines had made the slur.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s understood that it is alleged the woman said \u201cf**k the Jews\u201d and \u201cthey should have all been eradicated\u201d.<\/p>\n
The woman was not arrested, and was given a move-on order by police.<\/p>\n
NSW Police confirmed investigations were ongoing.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust after 10am today, police were called to netball courts on Fitzgerald Avenue, Maroubra, after reports a woman had made offensive comments towards a group of people,\u201d NSW Police said in a statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cOfficers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and spoke with a 42-year-old woman.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was given a move-on direction and inquiries into the incident are continuing.\u201d<\/p>\n
The incident came as the Royal Commission on antisemitism and social cohesion began with the first block of hearings in Sydney this week.<\/p>\n
Commissioner Virginia Bell heard evidence from Jewish Australians of being racially abused in the street, including at sporting fields.<\/p>\n
