Significant delays are expected with a major road in Port Adelaide closed and parts of a train line impacted following a bus crash.<\/p>\n
Emergency services responded to a crash involving a passenger bus and a rail bridge support on Commercial Rd at Baynes Place first reported at 8:47am Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Witnesses claimed the bus had swerved to avoid a car that had pulled out of a side road.<\/p>\n
Road closures are in place in both directions on Commercial Road between Grand Junction Road and Dale Street. <\/p>\n
Trains on the Outer Harbor Line have been cancelled between Alberton and Outer Harbor.<\/p>\n
The service will terminate at Alberton and return to Adelaide Railway Station.<\/p>\n
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area and find alternate routes.<\/p>\n
The incident is expected to cause \u201csignificant delays\u201d according to SA Police, while emergency services work at the scene.<\/p>\n
The bus crashed into the rail support column head on, leaving glass and debris strewn across Commercial Rd.<\/p>\n
The driver of the bus was trapped in the wreckage for around an hour, before firefighters freed them just after 10am. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile Minster for Infrastructure and Transport Joe Szakacs wrote to his Facebook about the serious crash.<\/p>\n
