Melbourne street artist Rone might be about to see his most expensive piece of art ever sold as a townhouse with one of his murals on it\u2019s balcony goes up for sale.<\/p>\n

Famous for his iconic street style, Tyrone Wright, known by his pseudonym Rone, is recognised for his large-scale portraits of women\u2019s faces in old or empty buildings across Australia, the US, Japan, Spain and the UK.<\/p>\n

With a $1.375m-$1.475m price tag, the 51A O\u2019Connell St, North Melbourne, has a two-bedroom, two-bathroom floorplan hidden in the former Allen\u2019s Sweets factory.<\/p>\n

Some of Rone\u2019s most well known projects are \u2018Empire\u2019 at Burnham Beeches and \u2018Time\u2019 at Flinders Street Station.<\/p>\n

The three-level townhouse has a warehouse design that includes a mezzanine floor, cast concrete benchtops and a vaulted timber ceiling.<\/p>\n

Jellis Craig Inner North Partner and Senior Auctioneer Simon Shrimpton said the mural was commissioned in the early 2000s when the building was transformed from a lolly factory to residence.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mural adds a lovely addition to what is a great space and gives it a point of difference, particularly since Rone has become a household name,\u201d Mr Shrimpton said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the real deal especially with it\u2019s historical significance previously being apart of the Allan\u2019s lolly factory.\u201d<\/p>\n

The property includes an open-air deck with a BBQ, EV charger in the garage as well as skyline views and is only minutes away from the Queen Victoria Market, CBD and Melbourne University.<\/p>\n

\u201c51A O\u2019Connell Street has what is akin to a traditional New York roof garden,\u201d Mr Shrimpton said.<\/p>\n

The list of Rone\u2019s highest selling works to date includes Untitled (Jane Doe), a mixed media paper on canvas piece that went for almost $30,000 in 2023.<\/p>\n

It is not the only house that has gone up for sale after having work done on it by a street artist, in another instance artist Bailer was commissioned to paint on multiple walls inside a four story Bayside property<\/a>.<\/p>\n
