Police have arrested a man after an alleged knife attack forced a major shopping centre into lockdown.<\/p>\n
Emergency services were called to the Woolworths<\/a> supermarket<\/a> inside Grand Central Shopping Centre in Toowoomba<\/a>, west of Brisbane<\/a>, about 1.15pm on Friday following reports of a disturbance involving several people.<\/p>\n WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE: Alleged knife attack at busy Woolworths store<\/p>\n Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today Arrow<\/a><\/p>\n Police<\/a> arrived within minutes and took a man into custody.<\/p>\n Witnesses described seeing shoppers and staff hurried from the supermarket as police officers and centre security moved through the area.<\/p>\n Parts of the shopping centre<\/a> were evacuated while emergency crews responded.<\/p>\n Paramedics assessed three people at the scene. One man suffered a hand injury and was taken to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n The two other people assessed by paramedics were not physically injured.<\/p>\n Police have charged an 18-year-old man with one count each of intended to cause grievous bodily harm, going armed so as to cause fear, and stealing.<\/p>\n He was denied police bail and is expected to appear at Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Saturday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Charges after young father allegedly stabbed in front of family<\/p>\n 1 min read<\/p>\n
