Brisbane Airport has secured the city\u2019s first Costco, complete with a 34-bowser fuel station, as part of a new mixed-use precinct.<\/p>\n
The 15,600 square metre warehouse will sit on a 6.7-hectare site and include 870 car parking spaces alongside the fuel station, which Costco says will allow for quick refuelling. The store is due to open in late 2029 and will be Costco\u2019s first in Brisbane City and its fourth in Queensland.<\/p>\n
Chris Tingman, Country Manager for Costco Australia and New Zealand, said the warehouse represented an investment of more than $145 million in retail development and reflected confidence in the region.<\/p>\n

Perimeter drainage works have already begun on the broader 51-hectare development site, which is centrally located and more than three times the size of South Bank Parklands. Once complete, the Costco warehouse will employ approximately 250 full-time staff.<\/p>\n
Gert-Jan de Graaff, CEO of Brisbane Airport, said Costco\u2019s arrival was the first of several announcements planned for the new precinct, which sits just 12 kilometres from Brisbane\u2019s CBD with direct access to South East Queensland\u2019s road network.<\/p>\n

De Graaff added that Costco would occupy just 12 per cent of the site, leaving room for other tenants to establish themselves alongside the retailer.<\/p>\n
The development forms part of Brisbane Airport\u2019s $5 billion Future BNE transformation, which the airport says is creating jobs and strengthening its role in the Queensland economy.<\/p>\n
