A man was been rushed to hospital after his car collided with a train at a railway crossing in Adelaide\u2019s southwestern suburbs, halting train services on Saturday morning. <\/p>\n
Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Train Track Sixth Ave and Railway Tce at Ascot Park, following reports of a collision just before 7am.<\/p>\n
The driver of a Mitsubishi station wagon \u2013 a 26-year-old man \u2013 sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash. <\/p>\n
He was taken to hospital for treatment but is believed to have escaped with a broken arm.<\/p>\n
The incident forced train services to stop on the Seaford rail line between Adelaide Railway Station Oakland Railway Station.<\/p>\n
Services on the Flinders rail line between Flinders and Adelaide railway stations were also suspended in both directions.<\/p>\n
But, trains between Seaford and Oakland in both directions were still operating. <\/p>\n
The Flinders and Seaford rail lines reopened around 12.30pm. <\/p>\n
The three affected routes were Flinders to City, Noarlunga to City and the Seaford to City. <\/p>\n
Adelaide Metro advised passengers to use regular bus services while substitute buses are being organised. <\/p>\n
No one else was injured during the incident, according to police, as investigations continue into the circumstances that lead to the crash.<\/p>\n
