This Father\u2019s Day, Sunday, September 6, all dads will get free entry to Perth Zoo.<\/p>\n
No tickets will need to be purchased for dads at the gate or online. Simply rock up and dad gets in free of charge.<\/p>\n
Perth Zoo is home to more than 1300 animals, including several native and exotic animal dads.<\/p>\n
In the African Savannah, southern white rhinoceros Memphis can be found grazing alongside his teenage son, Bakari.<\/p>\n
Goodfellow\u2019s tree kangaroo Huli is one of the zoo\u2019s most celebrated fathers, with five descendants now living around the world, including daughter Muku in Perth.<\/p>\n
Behind the scenes, western ground parrot Golambiddee has also played an important role in conservation, siring the world\u2019s first western ground parrot chick to successfully hatch and leave the nest.<\/p>\n
Environment Minister Matthew Swinbourn said the initiative encourages families to enjoy a special day together exploring one of the State\u2019s most loved attractions.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether you\u2019re visiting your favourite animals or discovering something new, Perth Zoo has something for everyone,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cProviding free entry is a further opportunity for us to say thanks to all the dads and parents for introducing their children to the world of wildlife and helping to instil a passion for conservation in the next generation.\u201d<\/p>\n
