A NSW couple are facing charges over ketamine allegedly found in baby formula tins.<\/p>\n

Detectives searched the southwest Sydney home on Tuesday and alleged found a large haul of drugs in rooms accessible to two young kids living at the home.<\/p>\n

They found the white powder suspected to be ketamine in plastic vacuum-sealed bags inside the tins, 1kg of coloured crystalline substances suspected to be ketamine in foil packets in a suitcase, about 2kg of suspected ketamine in plastic containers, the AFP alleges.<\/p>\n

Polcie allege they also found multiple tablets suspected to be MDMA, about $30,000 cash, a replica firearm, and other suspicious items.<\/p>\n

The man and woman \u2014 both 30 \u2014 have both been charged with a number of drig related offences.<\/p>\n

They face life in prison if found guilty.<\/p>\n

Police allege they launched their investigation into the alleged drug importing operation when the Australian Border Force detected ketamine and cocaine in another man\u2019s luggage.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old man from the Czech Republic was charged with importing a commercial quantity of border controlled drugs, namely ketamine and cocaine.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is particularly concerning to find what we suspect is ketamine at a home and within reach of young children,\u201d AFP Detective Superintendent Morgen Blunden said.<\/p>\n

He said ketamine was a powerful dissociative substance and its use could result in memory impairment, a sense of disconnection from the body, reduced breathing and an inability to recognise or respond to risks.<\/p>\n
